INDIANAPOLIS | Central Indiana is settling into a cooler evening pattern after a breezy Wednesday, with clouds still hanging around and a mild late-week setup taking shape.
Current conditions in Indianapolis were mostly cloudy and 63°F, with the day’s forecast calling for breezy conditions and intervals of clouds and sunshine. The high was expected near 65°F, with a cooler night dropping toward the mid-40s.
Thursday looks more comfortable. The forecast calls for partly sunny conditions with a high near 67°F and a low around 47°F. That is useful weather for school pickups, evening errands, outdoor practices and downtown foot traffic, though the cooler morning start may still need a light jacket.
Friday brings the next shower chance. The forecast calls for times of clouds and sun with a shower in the area during the afternoon, a high near 69°F and a milder low around 58°F.
This is not a severe-weather alert. There is no basis in this forecast to present the evening as an emergency. The practical message is simple: cooler tonight, pleasant enough Thursday, and keep an umbrella option in mind for Friday afternoon.
Drivers should expect routine evening glare where clouds break, damp-road potential if late-week showers develop, and cooler morning temperatures for early commuters. Families headed to outdoor events should check the forecast again before leaving, especially Friday.
The weekend setup will depend on how quickly the next disturbance moves through and whether the warmer air behind it holds. For now, the near-term forecast is manageable and not disruptive.
The best planning window is Thursday. Friday is still usable, but it carries more uncertainty because of the afternoon shower chance.
