NEW YORK | New York’s weather week begins wet and humid, then trends hotter by the middle of next week, giving the city a classic summer mix of rain timing, commuter impacts and apartment heat stress.

Friday brings morning showers and mainly cloudy, humid conditions. Saturday is cooler but wetter, with rain most of the time and longer persistence possible south of the city. Sunday looks like the best weekend window before warmth builds again early next week.

Day-by-day outlook

Friday: 83°F high, 69°F low, morning showers and humid clouds. Saturday: 75°F high, 67°F low, humid with rain most of the time. Sunday: 83°F high, 68°F low, partly sunny and humid. Monday: 87°F high, 70°F low, mostly sunny. Tuesday: 89°F high, 72°F low, very warm with an afternoon thunderstorm chance. Wednesday: 94°F high, 74°F low, hot with a thunderstorm possible. Thursday: 95°F high, 75°F low, very hot with a thunderstorm in spots. Friday, 3 July: 93°F high, 71°F low, mostly sunny and toasty.

The city impacts are street-level: wet platforms and crosswalks early, shoreline and low-lying drainage awareness during heavier rain, then heat planning for apartments, outdoor workers and crowded transit corridors later in the period.

This is a forecast brief, not an active warning article. Readers should follow official National Weather Service statements for any flood, thunderstorm, heat or air-quality advisories that develop.
