PHILADELPHIA | Philadelphia’s forecast for 26 June through 3 July begins with showers and rain risk, then builds into a very hot midweek stretch that could push afternoon highs near or above 100°F.

Friday is expected to bring intervals of clouds and sun with a shower in the area. Saturday looks wetter and cooler, with humid periods of rain and a thunderstorm. Sunday turns warmer, and the heat builds from Monday through Friday.

Day-by-day outlook

Friday: 85°F high, 70°F low, clouds and sun with a shower nearby. Saturday: 75°F high, 68°F low, humid with rain and a thunderstorm. Sunday: 87°F high, 67°F low, partly sunny and warmer. Monday: 89°F high, 68°F low, mostly sunny. Tuesday: 94°F high, 72°F low, toasty with an afternoon thunderstorm chance. Wednesday: 100°F high, 79°F low, near-record heat with a thunderstorm possible. Thursday: 102°F high, 78°F low, very hot with a thunderstorm in spots. Friday, 3 July: 100°F high, 76°F low, very hot and less humid with more sun than clouds.

The early-week issue is rain gear and travel timing. The midweek issue is heat safety. Outdoor workers, youth sports, older adults, people without reliable cooling and anyone attending large events should plan for hydration, shade and breaks.

This is a weather brief, not an active alert. Readers should follow official National Weather Service products for any heat advisory, excessive heat warning, flood advisory or thunderstorm warning that may be issued.

What This Means

What This Means: Philadelphia should treat the period as a two-stage forecast: rain and thunderstorm timing first, then serious heat precautions by midweek.
