Newsroom Controls

Super-admin controls for CGN News v7.9.3 Alpha AI newsroom, Editorial AI copy edit, draft-only custom generator, morning/noon/evening scheduling, Drive uploads, priority ranking, weather, sports, categories, and newsletter tools.

Before running newsroom, upload, or newsletter functions, confirm Apps Script was authorized under tips@cgnnews.net. Auto-news should show 6 AM Morning, 12 PM Noon, and 6 PM Evening triggers.

AI Article Generator — Draft Only

Create a custom AI-assisted article draft using CGN editorial standards. This never auto-publishes. Review, edit, then click Publish in the article editor.

Daily Newsroom

Run the main 6 AM morning package, the 12 PM daytime refresh, manual fresh package, and the 6 PM evening stack.

Generates the main morning CGN News package using editorial standards, fresh source checks, and reporter/category rules.

Runs the weather-only automation now: publishes the Indianapolis Daily Weather Brief and checks official NWS/NOAA severe-weather alerts.

Creates the 6 AM Daily Weather Brief trigger and the 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM Severe Weather Alert check triggers.

Disables only CGNAutoNewsWeatherBriefs triggers. Does not touch AutoNews, newsletters, or manual newsroom functions.

Checks whether the independent Daily Weather Brief and Severe Weather Alert check triggers are installed.

Editorial AI Review

v7.9.3 final safety pass. Use this to copy edit generated stories, repair fixable drafts, and force unsafe articles to draft before static generation or newsletters.

Review One Article ID

Batch Limit

Reviews the latest generated/published candidates and applies the v7.9.3 final safety pass.

Same backend action as the manual newsroom button; processes up to 25 most recent drafts/submitted items.

Runs the Editorial AI safety pass on one selected article or typed article_id.

Loads recent backend log activity so you can verify Editorial AI decisions.

Editor image uploads now save to the approved CGN News Google Drive folder and return website-safe preview/image URLs for article hero images.

Checks whether the backend can access the configured Google Drive Uploads folder.

Same health check through the editor route layer, useful after deployment or reauthorization.

Static Pages / SEO / Backend Health

v7.9 backend controls for static article generation, archives, sitemaps, route health, and image-default diagnostics.

Generates the latest crawlable static article pages and updates GitHub-backed static output.

Runs the full static article build for News, Weather, Sports, and canonical article routes.

Rebuilds sitemap and news-sitemap files from the current Articles sheet.

Rebuilds archive pages if the backend archive/static functions are enabled.

Checks the deployed backend version and confirms route connectivity.

Checks the current CGN article image default map and protected image behavior.

Email / Newsletter

Newsletter tools use the approved CGNEmail system and tips@cgnnews.net authorization.
